Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Yard Manager/ Truck Loader to oversee the efficient loading and unloading of trucks within our warehouse facility. This role requires strong knowledge of warehouse operations, heavy equipment operation, and materials handling. The Yard Manager Truck Loader will ensure safety compliance, manage inventory movement, and coordinate with team members to maintain smooth shipping and receiving processes. Prior experience in warehouse management, crane operation, forklift handling, and order picking is essential for success in this position. Responsibilities Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks using heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks Ensure proper order picking and materials handling according to shipping & receiving schedules Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for accurate inventory tracking Manage the movement of materials within the yard, including load & unload activities Supervise warehouse distribution tasks, including order picking and shipping & receiving operations Maintain safety standards in accordance with OSHA regulations during all yard activities Conduct regular inspections of heavy equipment and mechanical systems to ensure proper functioning Coordinate with warehouse staff to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency Train new team members on equipment operation and safety procedures Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling Requirements Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles Prior warehouse supervisor or management experience preferred Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse machinery and systems Ability to operate a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF scanners accurately Strong skills in heavy lifting, materials handling, and order picking processes Construction or logistics background is a plus Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Valid certification for forklift or crane operation is preferred but not mandatory Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to safety and detail
