Approximately 60 hours per week Job Overview We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Nursery / Logistics Yard Assistant Manager to assist with the daily operations of a nursery and bulk materials yard. This is a hands-on position involving inventory management, yard organization, plant care, and the loading and unloading of landscaping materials such as trees, stone, soil, and mulch. The role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment. The assistant manager will report directly to the Nursery/Materials/Equipment Manager and help ensure the yard remains organized, efficient, and running smoothly. Responsibilities Load and unload trees, plants, and landscaping materials Handle pallets of stone, mulch, soil, sand, and concrete products Conduct daily morning walk-through inventory checks Record incoming and outgoing materials Ensure all nursery plants are watered appropriately Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient yard Assist with yard tasks such as filling sandbags, mixing soil, and staging materials Organize materials for deliveries and customer pickups Follow safety procedures and yard guidelines Preferred Experience Experience working in a nursery, landscaping yard, or materials yard Equipment operation experience preferred, including: Skid steer Articulated wheel loader Excavator Screening machine / soil screener Basic knowledge of plants or horticulture Additional Qualifications Ability to speak Spanish is highly advantageous Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and follow established procedures Comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors Compensation Salary commensurate with experience.
