About the Role We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our warehouse supporting a high-volume direct mail and transactional print environment. The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for ensuring that materials are received, stored, inventoried, staged, and delivered to production accurately and efficiently. This position plays a critical role in keeping production running on schedule while maintaining strong inventory controls, safety standards, housekeeping, and operational discipline. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands manufacturing or print-related warehouse operations , can manage competing priorities, and is comfortable working closely with Production, Purchasing, Estimating, and Client Services. Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations Manage all daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, storage, staging, picking, and shipping. Ensure materials are available and delivered to production departments according to job requirements and production schedules. Coordinate the timely movement of paper, envelopes, inserts, labels, finished goods, and other production materials. Establish and maintain an organized warehouse layout that maximizes space utilization and workflow efficiency. Maintain proper identification and location of all inventory. Ensure materials are staged accurately for production and that completed jobs are moved promptly to the appropriate next step. Coordinate shipping and receiving activities and verify quantities and documentation. Inventory Control Maintain accurate inventory records and physical inventory levels. Establish and maintain appropriate inventory locations, minimum/maximum levels, and replenishment procedures. Conduct cycle counts and periodic physical inventories. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Identify obsolete, excess, damaged, or slow-moving inventory and communicate findings to management. Work closely with Purchasing and Operations to ensure materials are available when needed without creating unnecessary excess inventory. Implement procedures to reduce material waste, loss, damage, and misplacement. Ensure inventory transactions are entered accurately and in a timely manner within the company's ERP/system. Direct Mail & Production Support Review upcoming production schedules and proactively identify material requirements. Ensure materials for scheduled jobs are pulled and staged accurately and on time. Support production by preventing material shortages and unnecessary production delays. Verify job quantities and material requirements against work orders and production documentation. Coordinate the movement of work-in-process and finished mail between warehouse, production, and shipping areas. Help identify opportunities to reduce paper waste, material handling time, and unnecessary movement. Leadership & Team Management Lead, train, coach, and develop warehouse employees. Establish clear expectations for productivity, accuracy, attendance, safety, and housekeeping. Monitor employee performance and provide regular feedback. Schedule warehouse personnel based on workload and production requirements. Promote teamwork and accountability across the warehouse and production departments. Cross-train employees to improve flexibility and coverage. Safety & Housekeeping Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Ensure employees follow all company safety policies and procedures. Monitor proper use of forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment. Maintain appropriate storage practices for paper and other materials. Conduct regular safety and housekeeping inspections. Address safety concerns immediately and escalate issues when appropriate. Process Improvement Develop and maintain warehouse procedures and standard operating practices. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, inventory accuracy, material flow, and warehouse utilization. Track key warehouse performance metrics and provide regular reporting to Operations management. Reduce unnecessary handling, movement, damage, and waste. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing operation. Key Performance Indicators The Warehouse Manager will be accountable for improving and maintaining: Inventory accuracy Material availability for production On-time job staging Receiving accuracy and timeliness Shipping accuracy Inventory shrinkage and discrepancies Material waste and damage Warehouse productivity Space utilization Safety performance Housekeeping standards Overtime and labor efficiency Qualifications 5+ years of warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing experience. 2+ years of supervisory or management experience. Experience in a print, direct mail, transactional print, manufacturing, or similar high-volume production environment strongly preferred . Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse procedures. Experience working with an ERP, warehouse management, or inventory management system. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and understand work orders, production schedules, purchase orders, and inventory documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy. Ability to prioritize multiple jobs and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and leadership skills. Forklift certification or prior forklift experience preferred. Ability to work on your feet and lift/move materials as required by the position. You should be comfortable walking the warehouse, working with employees, checking inventory, solving production issues, and identifying opportunities to make the operation better. Anticipate problems before they affect production. Hold yourself and your team accountable. Are highly organized and detail-oriented. Look for ways to improve processes rather than simply maintain them. Work collaboratively with Production, Purchasing, Estimating, and Operations. Understand the importance of accurate data and inventory transactions. Can balance service to production with strong inventory and cost controls .

$55,000.00 per year
