We serve customers with demanding quality and delivery requirements and are seeking a highly organized, results-driven Logistics Manager to oversee the movement of materials and finished goods throughout our operation. Position Summary The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and optimizing all inbound and outbound logistics activities. This role oversees shipping, receiving, freight management, and warehouse operations while working closely with Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, and Quality to ensure materials and finished products move efficiently throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong analytical skills, experience in manufacturing logistics, and a passion for continuous improvement. Essential Responsibilities Lead all shipping, receiving, warehouse, and logistics operations. Develop and maintain efficient material flow throughout the facility. Coordinate shipments using LTL, FTL, parcel, and expedited carriers. Negotiate freight rates and manage carrier relationships to control transportation costs. Ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and on time. Monitor shipping performance, freight expenses, and delivery metrics. Collaborate with Production Planning to prioritize shipments based on customer requirements. Work closely with Purchasing to ensure timely receipt of raw materials and outside processing. Maintain accurate inventory transactions within the ERP system. Oversee cycle counting and inventory accuracy initiatives. Develop and implement standard operating procedures for warehouse and logistics functions. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, export requirements, and customer shipping specifications. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles. Supervise, coach, and develop shipping, receiving, and warehouse personnel. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics performance and report results to management. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. Qualifications Required 5+ years of logistics, warehouse, or supply chain management experience within a manufacturing environment. Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Experience managing freight carriers and transportation providers. Strong understanding of inventory control principles. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge & Skills Strong leadership and team development abilities. Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Data-driven decision-making skills. Excellent negotiation skills. Strong customer service mindset. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement. Physical Requirements Ability to walk throughout a manufacturing facility. Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, and climb stairs as needed. Ability to work in both office and production environments.
