On-Site Position Summary A&H Manufacturing is seeking an experienced and organized Shipping & Receiving Manager to oversee the daily operations of our shipping and receiving department. This position is responsible for ensuring materials and finished products are received, stored, processed, and shipped accurately and efficiently. The Shipping & Receiving Manager will supervise department employees, coordinate shipments and deliveries, maintain accurate inventory and shipping records, and work closely with Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Management to ensure customer orders and manufacturing materials move efficiently throughout the company. Essential ResponsibilitiesShipping Oversee all daily shipping activities and ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and on time. Coordinate outgoing shipments with customers, carriers, and internal departments. Prepare and review bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and other required documentation. Verify quantities, product identification, packaging, and shipping information before orders leave the facility. Schedule pickups and coordinate with freight carriers, common carriers, and delivery services. Monitor shipment status and resolve shipping discrepancies or delays. Ensure finished goods are properly packaged, labeled, and secured for transportation. Maintain accurate shipping records. Receiving Oversee the receiving of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and other incoming shipments. Verify received materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and other documentation. Inspect shipments for quantity discrepancies, damage, or incorrect materials. Report receiving discrepancies to Purchasing and Management. Ensure received materials are properly identified, labeled, and placed in designated storage locations. Maintain accurate receiving records and documentation. Warehouse & Inventory Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse and shipping/receiving area. Ensure inventory is stored properly and can be located efficiently. Assist with maintaining accurate inventory counts and investigate discrepancies. Coordinate movement of materials between Receiving, Warehouse, and Production. Monitor warehouse space and recommend improvements to storage and material flow. Ensure aisles, exits, fire equipment, electrical panels, and designated safety areas remain clear. Participate in physical inventory counts as needed. Employee Supervision Supervise, train, and coordinate Shipping & Receiving employees. Assign daily work and establish priorities based on production and shipping requirements. Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, and adherence to company policies. Train employees on proper shipping, receiving, material handling, and safety procedures. Address performance issues promptly and communicate concerns to Human Resources and Management when appropriate. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a professional work environment. Safety & Compliance Ensure employees follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements. Monitor proper use of forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment. Ensure employees who operate powered industrial trucks have required training and authorization. Maintain clear and accessible emergency exits and designated walkways. Report unsafe conditions, accidents, damaged equipment, and other safety concerns to Management. Participate in safety meetings and corrective-action activities. Qualifications Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing operations. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple shipments, deliveries, and production needs. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping documentation. Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or shipping software. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, customers, vendors, and transportation companies. Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions regarding daily operations. Forklift certification or previous forklift experience preferred. Manufacturing experience preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to regularly lift, move, and handle materials and packages as required by the position. Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. Ability to safely operate or work around material-handling equipment. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and climb steps or ladders when required. Must be able to follow all applicable safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment. Key Performance Expectations The successful candidate will be expected to: Maintain accurate and timely shipping and receiving operations. Minimize shipping and receiving errors. Maintain accurate inventory records. Keep the warehouse and shipping areas organized and safe. Ensure customer shipments are completed on schedule. Maintain good communication with Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Management. Effectively supervise and develop Shipping & Receiving employees. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, and material flow. Preferred Experience 3+ years of shipping/receiving or warehouse experience, with 1+ year of supervisory or management experience preferred. Manufacturing, packaging, or distribution experience is a strong plus.
