Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Distribution Center Manager to lead all aspects of warehouse and distribution operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely execution of daily activities while driving operational excellence through strong leadership, process improvement, and a commitment to safety and quality. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all distribution center operations, including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, transfers, and warehouse organization. Ensure productivity, accuracy, and service level expectations are consistently achieved while maintaining a safe and efficient operation. Maintain a strong presence on the warehouse floor to monitor performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and address operational issues in real time. Ensure inventory accuracy through effective controls, cycle counting, reconciliation processes, and adherence to established procedures. Resolve operational challenges involving customers, transportation providers, carriers, and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. Lead, coach, train, and develop supervisors and warehouse associates, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Manage staffing, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development activities. Provide regular performance feedback, conduct evaluations, and address performance concerns through coaching and corrective action when needed. Serve as a trusted resource for employee relations matters while ensuring consistent application of company policies and procedures. Promote and maintain a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and all applicable policies. Conduct regular facility inspections, safety audits, and warehouse walkthroughs to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment. Analyze operational data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, improve performance, and drive business results. Implement process improvements and lean initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance customer satisfaction. Monitor labor utilization, operational expenses, and facility costs to maximize efficiency and support business objectives. Partner with Purchasing and cross-functional teams to support operational needs, special projects, and system enhancements. Prepare and maintain accurate operational reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance metrics. Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping related to training, employee performance, inventory controls, and operational activities. Directly oversee supervisors and warehouse associates and maintain overall accountability for team performance and operational success. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Operations Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. 5+ years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics leadership experience. 3+ years of direct people management experience. Strong knowledge of inventory management, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve performance, and drive accountability. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Experience in a high-volume distribution or manufacturing environment. Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience. OSHA and warehouse safety compliance knowledge. Experience managing labor planning, workforce scheduling, and operational budgets. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise warehouse supervisors and associates across all functional areas of the distribution center. Responsible for staffing, scheduling, training, performance management, and overall team effectiveness.
