Warehouse Manager 1900 Stuart Street, Chattanooga, TN 37406 From $52,000 a year - Full-time From $52,000 a year - Full-time Overview We are seeking an experienced and organized Warehouse Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations for a family-owned business. Reporting directly to the owner, this role works closely with leadership to execute daily operational priorities while taking ownership of warehouse organization, inventory control, team oversight, and workflow execution. This is a hands-on, working manager role responsible for leading day-to-day warehouse operation while actively participating in shipping, receiving, inventory handling, customer pickups, and warehouse organization. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of improving processes while maintaining a safe, production, and well-organized warehouse environment. Occasional travel is required. Responsibilities Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, inventory movement, and material organization Own inventory accuracy through receiving verification, routine cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, and organized material storage Lead day-to-day warehouse staff by assigning tasks, monitoring productivity, training team members, and reinforcing accountability and performance expectations Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including freight scheduling, carrier communication, and third-party logistics coordination Monitor warehouse workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, and productivity Help establish and improve warehouse procedures, organization systems, and standard operating practices to support long-term efficiency and growth Ensure compliance with warehouse safety standards, equipment procedures, and general operating expectations Conduct routine equipment inspections and coordinate basic maintenance or repair needs as necessary Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, as needed Process and fulfill customer orders accurately and in a timely manner Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment Assist scheduled and walk-in customers with order pickup, loading, and purchase completion in a professional and courteous manner Travel as need to assist with wholesale purchasing, pickups, and load coordination Preferred Experience Previous experience in warehouse management, warehouse supervision, or a similar leadership role Strong understanding of inventory control, shipping and receiving, and warehouse operations Experience leading a team and managing daily workflows in a warehouse setting Familiarity with freight coordination, carrier scheduling, and general logistics Experience improving warehouse systems, organization, or operational processes is strongly preferred Requirements Forklift certification or the ability to become certified Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials as needed Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Working knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment checks and minor troubleshooting Ability to work independently, solve problems, and follow through with minimal oversight Occasional travel within the US, including overnight travel Ability to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships that support repeat business Position Summary This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can take ownership of warehouse operations, lead by example, maintain high standards, and help build efficient systems in a growing, owner-operated business.
