Job Description

Working as the Water Distribution Manager, you can expect to lead and oversee the operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the Town's water distribution system. In this role, you will supervise and develop distribution staff, coordinate daily operations and emergency response activities, and ensure the reliable delivery of safe drinking water to the community. Responsibilities include planning and managing maintenance programs for water mains, hydrants, valves, service lines, storage facilities, and booster stations; overseeing capital improvement and construction projects; monitoring system performance and regulatory compliance; managing contractor activities; maintaining infrastructure records and asset inventories; and assisting with long-range planning and budgeting efforts. This position is ideal for a strategic and hands-on leader who is committed to operational excellence, employee development, and the continued reliability of Collierville's water infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Associate s Degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Environmental Science, Public Administration, or a closely related field Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in water distribution system maintenance, construction, or operations, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver s License Must possess or obtain a State of Tennessee Grade II Water Distribution System Operator License within twenty-four (24) months of hire and maintain certification throughout employment in accordance with TDEC Rule 0400-49- 01.
