Job Description
Food-distribution company is seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee daily warehouse activities, develop employees, improve processes, and strengthen customer service. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can turn operational priorities into measurable results while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and accountability. This role is responsible for overseeing all operational shifts, including day and night shifts, with coverage required every day of the week to ensure continuous warehouse and distribution performance. What You Will Lead Daily warehouse operations, staffing, scheduling, and workflow across all shifts, including day and night operations, seven days a week. Hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management. Receiving, inventory planning, order fulfillment, shipping, and warehouse efficiency. Departmental payroll, operating budgets, forecasts, labor costs, and resource allocation. Equipment, materials, supplies, procurement processes, and vendor relationships. Operational procedures that improve productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. Collaboration across departments to improve communication and business performance. Operational coverage in other departments or locations as business needs require. Performance Measures Order rate and picking accuracy Inventory carrying costs and inventory control Receiving cycle time Dock and warehouse-space utilization Storage productivity On-time delivery and customer service Fleet and equipment utilization What You Bring Five or more years of experience as an Operations Manager or in a comparable leadership position. Experience managing warehouse teams, budgets, payroll, inventory, vendors, and operational performance. Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop procedures, analyze performance data, and implement improvements. Knowledge of supply chain, finance, procurement, inventory, and customer-service principles. Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Teams, WMS, ERP, business-intelligence, or similar operational systems. Ability to work on-site and adjust your schedule based on operational needs, including weekends when required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain management, business, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered. Bilingual English and Spanish. Food-distribution, warehouse, or temperature-controlled operations experience. OSHA certification or related safety training.
