Job Description

Job Overview The Inbound Manager oversees all inbound operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and secure processing of incoming shipments. This includes managing dock activity, trailer unloading, seal inspections per CTPAT standards, and product verification. The role leads receiving supervisors and teams, ensures compliance, drives productivity, and collaborates with Inventory Control, Returns, and other departments to resolve discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy. The manager is responsible for optimizing space, improving workflows, and upholding safety and audit readiness across receiving operations. Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Minimum of five (5) years in warehouse receiving operations, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity in a high-volume environment. Proven experience managing teams, implementing process improvements, and working cross-functionally. Six Sigma/Lean certification or experience a plus Training & Knowledge Expert knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory systems, freight handling, and inbound documentation. Familiar with CTPAT guidelines, seal verification, and security protocol documentation. OSHA compliance knowledge and experience managing safe dock operations. Responsibilities Oversee all inbound operations, including trailer unloading, seal inspections (CTPAT), and receipt verification against purchase orders or manifests. Lead and support the receiving team by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to SOPs and safety standards. Coordinate daily workload, labor planning, dock scheduling, and space management to optimize efficiency. Ensure timely and accurate system receipts, communication of discrepancies, and collaboration with Inventory Control, Returns, and other departments to resolve issues. Maintain real-time receiving logs and reporting to support traceability, audit readiness, and inventory accuracy. Communicate receiving issues to relevant departments such as Purchasing and Inventory Control, Freight and Logistics, and Quality Control. Identify process improvements, enforce best practices, and ensure team compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Monitor KPIs for accuracy, productivity, space utilization, and inbound performance; implement corrective actions as needed. Train and develop staff to meet department goals, quality standards, and safety expectations. Support warehouse audits and lead operational readiness for inspections related to GRS, CTPAT, or internal compliance. Perform other duties as assigned by Distribution Leadership. Skills Strong leadership and people development skills Advanced knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inbound workflows, and ERP platforms Highly analytical with the ability to use Excel and reporting tools to monitor performance Effective communicator across multiple teams and levels of the organization Ability to prioritize, delegate, and execute under pressure in a dynamic environment Strong understanding of supply chain processes and warehouse flow optimization Forward-thinking, pro-active decision maker Self-Managed Working environment The Inbound Manager operates within a distribution facility that is not climate-controlled and is subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations. Dust and fibers are present due to the nature of the product (rugs, textiles). Employees must be vigilant around powered industrial trucks (PIT) and loading equipment in the vicinity. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Frequently required to crouch, climb stairs, reach overhead, or navigate warehouse zones. Must be able to communicate clearly, read documents, and respond quickly in high-traffic areas.

Pay:
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
