Job Summary The Shipping Technician is responsible for preparing, packaging, and shipping compounded prescriptions to patients and healthcare providers in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner. This role ensures proper handling of temperature-sensitive medications, accurate documentation, and coordination with carriers such as UPS and FedEx to maintain delivery integrity and patient safety. Key Responsibilities Prepare compounded prescriptions for shipment according to pharmacy protocols and regulatory requirements. Package medications securely using appropriate materials, including cold-chain packaging when required. Generate shipping labels and process shipments using UPS and FedEx shipping systems. Verify patient information, shipping addresses, and prescription details prior to dispatch. Schedule daily pickups and coordinate with UPS and FedEx drivers. Track outgoing shipments and monitor delivery status to ensure timely delivery. Resolve shipping issues such as delays, lost packages, or address corrections. Maintain shipping logs and documentation for compliance and quality assurance. Ensure compliance with USP guidelines, HIPAA, and pharmacy regulations related to medication handling and shipping. Monitor inventory of shipping supplies (boxes, insulation, gel packs, labels, etc.). Assist pharmacy staff with workflow coordination between compounding, verification, and shipping. Maintain a clean, organized shipping and packing area. Perform other job duties as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in shipping/logistics, pharmacy, healthcare, or warehouse environments preferred. Experience using UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar shipping platforms preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle sensitive medications and confidential patient information. Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping software. Ability to safely lift and move packages up to 50 lbs. and remain on feet for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in acompounding pharmacy or pharmaceutical environment. Familiarity with temperature-controlled shipping and cold-chain logistics. Knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, or <800> handling practices.
