To ensure trucking division operates efficiently and effectively while meeting and/or exceeding practices as directed by management team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manages Operations for the Trucking & Roustabout Division. Identifies, recommends, and implements measures to improve processes, methods, performance, training, safety and education of both personnel and assets. Must have extensive knowledge of US Department of Transportation and other state and federal regulatory agencies regulations. Ensure compliance with US DOT Regulations & IFTA reporting requirements. Monitors and ensures that employees are performing their functions safely and productively. Monitor deliveries, branch to branch transfers, special deliveries, pick-ups and more ensuring the highest level of Safety and Customer Service possible. Ensure that equipment inspections, maintenance and repairs are performed. Monitoring of financial statements and creating and working within an approved budget. Evaluate monthly cost statements to determine areas for opportunities for cost savings and financial improvement. Responsible for motivating staff and assisting with any employee disciplinary problems. Coordinates meetings with contractors and company drivers. Sales and customer management. Other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred, however not required. Minimum 5 years' experience in trucking management, sales, operations and/or logistics. Ability to think, analyze and act strategically. Intermediate computer skills Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, well organized. Willingness to travel at least 20% of time. Valid driver's license. Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach with arms, kneel, push/pull 50 pounds, and lift 30 pounds. Tact, above average communication skills, ability to work effectively with both employees and managers. Ability to convey a positive and professional image to employees.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to wear required PPE as assigned by HS&E Manager. Ability to work in extreme outdoor weather. Ability to lift fifty pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
