Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Inbound/Outbound Receiving Manager to oversee daily warehouse receiving, shipping, inventory movement, and order fulfillment operations within our 3PL facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that customer freight and inventory are received, inspected, processed, stored, picked, packed, and shipped accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience managing warehouse operations in a fast-paced 3PL environment. Key ResponsibilitiesInbound Operations Manage all inbound receiving activities, including unloading, counting, inspecting, labeling, and system receiving. Verify incoming shipments against BOLs, POs, packing slips, and customer requirements. Identify and document shortages, overages, damages, and discrepancies. Coordinate receiving appointments and communicate with carriers, customers, and warehouse personnel. Ensure inventory is properly labeled, located, and entered into the WMS accurately. Maintain organized receiving areas and ensure freight is moved to storage promptly. Monitor receiving productivity and ensure customer SLAs are consistently met. Outbound Operations Oversee picking, packing, staging, loading, and shipping activities. Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on schedule. Coordinate daily outbound shipments with carriers and customers. Verify shipping documentation, labels, quantities, and pallet configurations. Resolve shipping discrepancies and prevent repeat errors. Ensure outbound freight is properly staged and loaded safely and efficiently. Team Leadership Supervise, train, and coach warehouse associates, leads, and receiving/shipping personnel. Assign daily work and adjust staffing based on inbound and outbound volume. Establish productivity and accuracy expectations for the team. Conduct performance coaching and maintain a positive, accountable work environment. Ensure employees follow company policies and warehouse procedures. Inventory & 3PL Customer Service Maintain high inventory accuracy across multiple 3PL customer accounts. Investigate inventory discrepancies and coordinate cycle counts and adjustments. Work closely with account managers and customers to resolve operational issues. Ensure customer-specific SOPs and handling requirements are followed. Maintain accurate WMS transactions and warehouse documentation. Monitor KPIs including receiving accuracy, order accuracy, productivity, dock-to-stock time, shipping performance, and inventory accuracy. Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA, company, and warehouse safety procedures. Ensure proper use of forklifts, pallet jacks, PPE, and other warehouse equipment. Maintain clean, organized, and safe dock and warehouse areas. Report accidents, damages, and safety concerns promptly. Conduct or participate in safety meetings and training. Qualifications 3+ years of warehouse or distribution management experience , preferably in a 3PL environment. Previous experience managing both inbound and outbound warehouse operations. Experience supervising warehouse employees and leads. Strong understanding of WMS systems and warehouse processes. Experience with inventory control and cycle counting. Ability to read and understand BOLs, packing lists, shipping documents, and customer orders. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities. Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment is preferred. Experience with multiple customers/accounts in a 3PL environment is strongly preferred.
