Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a results-driven General Manager to lead a high-volume cross-dock facility focused on unloading inbound containers and loading outbound containers in a fast-paced 3PL environment. This role is responsible for operational execution, labor planning, safety leadership, financial performance, and accurate operational reporting within a Cost Per Unit (CPU) model. The ideal candidate thrives on the dock floor, understands container flow, and can balance service excellence with cost discipline. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily inbound container unload and outbound container load operations
  • Manage dock flow, door scheduling, staging, and yard coordination
  • Build and execute labor plans aligned to forecasted container volume
  • Drive productivity standards (units per hour, load efficiency)
  • Control overtime and labor costs to meet CPU financial targets
  • Ensure 100% on-time outbound departures
  • Maintain strong safety culture across forklift and dock operations
  • Coach and develop Supervisors, Leads, and Associates
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely daily performance reports (volume, labor, productivity, cost, service metrics)
  • Ensure reporting integrity and data accuracy across WMS and financial tracking systems
  • Communicate operational performance clearly to senior leadership and clients Performance Expectations
  • Achieve productivity and cost targets
  • Maintain high load accuracy and low damage rates
  • Protect margin through disciplined labor management
  • Deliver consistent service during peak volume periods
  • Provide timely, error-free operational reporting
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement Qualifications
  • 5+ years warehouse or distribution leadership experience
  • Experience in cross-dock, container, or high-volume dock operations
  • Poven labor planning and workforce management skills
  • Strong financial awareness (cost control, productivity metrics)
  • Experience leading supervisors and multi-shift teams
  • Demonstrated experience in performance reporting and data accuracy
  • Strong communication and client-facing capability
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
