Modern office setting On-the-job training Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Terminal Manager to oversee daily operations at our logistics warehouse and transportation terminal. The Terminal Manager will be responsible for managing warehouse activities, transportation operations, employee performance, safety compliance, customer satisfaction, and overall terminal profitability. This leadership role requires strong organizational skills, operational expertise, and the ability to lead a fast-paced distribution environment. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Oversee all terminal, warehouse, and transportation operations. Ensure timely receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of freight. Monitor workflow efficiency and implement process improvements. Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to meet customer requirements. Manage fleet scheduling, dock operations, and load planning. Team Leadership Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse and transportation personnel. Develop employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels. Foster a positive, safety-focused work culture. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular safety meetings and facility inspections. Investigate accidents, incidents, and claims, implementing corrective actions. Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and transportation requirements. Customer Service Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and business partners. Resolve operational issues and customer concerns promptly. Monitor service levels and performance metrics. Financial Management Manage terminal budgets and operating expenses. Monitor labor costs, transportation costs, and facility expenses. Analyze operational reports and identify opportunities for cost savings. Ensure productivity goals and profitability targets are achieved. Inventory & Asset Management Oversee warehouse inventory accuracy and control procedures. Maintain terminal equipment and facility assets. Coordinate preventative maintenance programs for warehouse equipment. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred. 5+ years of logistics, transportation, warehouse, or terminal management experience. Proven leadership and team management experience. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, freight handling, and transportation logistics. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and transportation software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Experience managing LTL, distribution, courier, or freight operations. Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and transportation compliance requirements. Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement experience. Physical Requirements Ability to walk warehouse floors and loading docks regularly. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work in varying warehouse and outdoor environments.
