Job Description
Siloam Springs, AR $90,000/Year Our client is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to join their manufacturing team in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing purchasing, inventory management, production planning, and material flow to ensure efficient operations while meeting customer expectations for quality, delivery, safety, and cost. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong problem-solving abilities, experience in lean manufacturing, and a passion for driving continuous improvement. The Materials Manager will lead and develop a team while coordinating purchasing, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and production planning activities. This position plays a key role in ensuring raw materials and production components are available to support manufacturing schedules and customer demands. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all material planning, purchasing, inventory, and production scheduling functions. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for procurement and inventory management. Coach, mentor, and support supervisors and team members to encourage professional growth and high performance. Ensure materials and supplies are purchased in a cost-effective manner while meeting quality and delivery expectations. Monitor inventory levels and maintain appropriate stock to support production while minimizing excess inventory. Coordinate with production, purchasing, shipping, and receiving departments to maintain efficient material flow. Review sales orders, production schedules, and inventory records to ensure raw materials and components are available when needed. Process and maintain accurate documentation within company systems. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the operation. Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency using lean manufacturing principles. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required or eight (8) years of equivalent professional experience. Previous experience in materials management, purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing leadership. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is required. Experience leading teams through lean implementation is preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer systems. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
