Position Purpose The Parts Manager leads Parts Counter, Inside Sales, and Warehouse operations. This position is responsible for department safety, customer support, parts sales, inventory performance, purchasing, order fulfillment, and employee development. The Parts Manager works closely with the General Manager, Inventory Control, Purchasing, Service, Equipment Sales, Manufacturing, Transportation, Finance, and other branches to keep customer equipment and Goodfellow operations moving. Responsibilities Own Safety The Parts Manager owns safety for Parts Counter, Inside Sales, and Warehouse operations and makes safety the first priority in daily planning and department decisions. Model and enforce Goodfellow safety requirements, including forklift operation, material handling, personal protective equipment, housekeeping, and pedestrian safety. Conduct regular safety discussions, correct unsafe conditions or behavior promptly, and ensure employees receive required training. Partner with the General Manager and Safety team on inspections, incident reporting, corrective actions, and emergency procedures. Protect employees, customers, inventory, facilities, tools, equipment, and vehicles through sound controls and timely issue reporting. Lead the Team Set clear expectations and provide daily direction for Inside Sales, Parts Counter, and Warehouse employees. Plan staffing and schedules to provide dependable coverage for customers and internal departments. Hire, onboard, train, coach, and evaluate employees. Address performance and attendance concerns promptly and consistently. Build an accountable, solutions-focused culture where employees communicate early, follow through, and help one another succeed. Develop product knowledge, system skills, customer-service capability, and leadership depth across the department. Manage Inventory and Warehouse Performance Oversee purchasing, receiving, storage, picking, staging, packing, shipping, customer pickup, and delivery coordination. Maintain accurate inventory through disciplined receiving, item-location control, cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical inventories. Use demand, sales history, equipment population, lead times, and input from Service and Sales to support appropriate stocking levels. Monitor fill rate, turns, stockouts, backorders, lost sales, excess inventory, and obsolete inventory and act when performance falls short. Prioritize emergency, machine-down, will-call, branch-transfer, production, and service orders and communicate order status clearly. Maintain organized parts-counter, warehouse, yard, dock, and customer pickup areas. Grow Parts Sales and Customer Support Build trusted customer relationships by providing timely answers, accurate parts identification, fair pricing, and dependable follow-through. Develop and execute a branch parts-sales plan that supports revenue, gross margin, market share, and customer retention. Work with the PSSR and Equipment Sales teams to identify replenishment, wear-part, rebuild, preventive-maintenance, and stocking opportunities. Support counter, phone, email, and walk-in customers with quotes, order entry, availability, shipment status, returns, and issue resolution. Track lost sales and customer feedback to improve availability, service levels, and future sales opportunities. Run a Strong Department Develop department goals, budgets, forecasts, and action plans with the General Manager. Review sales, gross margin, expenses, inventory investment, productivity, and service-level results; explain variances and implement corrective action. Maintain pricing and discount discipline while balancing customer value, competitiveness, and profitability. Use company systems and reports to make decisions, improve processes, and keep leadership informed of risks and opportunities. Build productive vendor relationships and use purchasing, return, warranty, freight, and discount programs responsibly. Measures of Success- Safety performance, training, and housekeeping
