Job Description
Fleet & Logistics Manager Sun For Rent | Atascadero, CA | Full-Time | On-Site Interviewing Now — Position Open Until Filled About Sun For Rent Sun For Rent is not a traditional solar company. We're a hybrid energy systems rental provider based in Atascadero, CA. We build, deploy, and service USA-manufactured hybrid solar-electric generator systems for customers in oil and gas, national defense, construction, field robotics, and other industries where equipment has to perform in demanding environments without the burden of fuel logistics or noise restrictions. We are not a rooftop solar or residential solar energy provider. We provide durable and rugged trailer-based power systems to private companies, government contractors, military operations, and individuals nationwide. We're in a growth period — doubling our fleet over the next two years — and we're hiring the person who will own making that fleet run. The Role We're looking for a Fleet & Logistics Manager to take full ownership of our fleet operations: inventory tracking, scheduling, maintenance planning, delivery/pickup logistics, and customer coordination for our hybrid energy systems. This isn't a typical rental yard. Our equipment gets delivered, sited, and serviced across different terrains, locations, and industries — from remote job sites to secured facilities. You'll coordinate the moving pieces to make sure the right unit is in the right place, on time, and ready to work. You'll manage and coordinate with our Field Service Technician, serve as a primary point of contact for customers and site coordinators, and work directly with vendors and hauling partners. When problems come up — delivery issues, equipment performance, client concerns — you own the solution. Some days that means working the phones and the schedule from the office. Other days it means getting in the field, working with your hands, and figuring it out. This is complex work with plenty of curveballs. Fleet turnover, unit preparation, coordinating deployments across multiple industries and geographies, and managing the logistics chain from shop to site and back. You'll need to think quickly, adapt, communicate professionally, and use sound independent judgment.
