Job Description
Position Summary The Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating the Company's domestic transportation, third-party logistics (3PL) network, and inventory movement across five company-operated warehouses and multiple external distribution partners. The position focuses on ensuring products are shipped efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively while supporting high customer service levels. This role serves as the primary liaison between Operations, Customer Service, Purchasing, Sales, warehouse management, transportation providers, and third-party logistics partners. Reports to : Sr. Director of Operations - Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate inbound and outbound freight across company facilities and third-party warehouses. Schedule and monitor truckload (TL), LTL, parcel, and intermodal shipments. Develop and maintain relationships with transportation providers. Assist in negotiating freight rates and service agreements. Monitor freight expenses and recommend cost-saving initiatives. Resolve transportation delays and shipment issues. Assist with quarterly business reviews and performance scorecards. Coordinate inventory movement between company warehouses and 3PL facilities. Support inventory balancing initiatives. Coordinate customer drop-ship orders. Ensure timely communication between vendors, warehouses, and customers. Resolve fulfillment issues and transportation exceptions. Monitor vendor performance and shipping compliance. Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs. Improve transportation efficiency. Recommend process improvements that increase service levels and reduce costs. Participate in ERP and logistics system enhancements. Utilize Aptean Food & Beverage ERP to monitor logistics performance. Develop weekly logistics KPI reports. Track freight costs, OTIF performance, inventory transfers, and transportation metrics. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or equivalent experience. Five or more years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience. Experience coordinating multiple warehouse locations and third-party logistics providers. Strong knowledge of freight transportation and carrier management. Experience using ERP systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Food manufacturing or food distribution experience. Experience with Aptean Food & Beverage ERP or Microsoft Business Central. Power BI experience. Knowledge of FDA and FSMA transportation regulations.
