JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Parts Manager supervises and directs all sales activity (front/back counter, outside), shipping, receiving, inventory control and distribution of bus parts and accessories to customers while achieving company expectations for sales volume and profitability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Primary Responsibility, Scope of Work, KPI Management, complexity: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Management-related:
Actively manage the counter staff to create and capture sales opportunities. Achieve budgeted goals for sales volume, gross margin, inventory turns and department profitability. Utilize existing tools and work with the centralized inventory control team to maintain an appropriate and efficient part inventory in accordance with approved cost controls. Monitor and control slow and non-moving stock levels within company guidelines. Review part costs and control retail part pricing in accordance with Strategic Business Unit. Oversee part warranty and core management procedures. Carry out regular customer visits at the customer's location to cultivate new sales opportunities across the region. Provide customers with prompt part sales quotes. Assists on the front counter during busy periods or when a team member is absent. Participate in trade shows, open houses, and other industry events. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Conform to all safety rules and use of appropriate safety equipment. All other duties assigned.
Personnel-Related:
Select, hire, train and develop department personnel.

Work Environment:
This job operates generally in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Travel Up to 10% Travel is required.
