About the role VBC is seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain, who is responsible for overseeing the full supply chain across the US, and own end-to-end execution of supply chain operations across both facilities, including demand and supply planning, procurement, inventory management, and inbound/outbound logistics. This leadership role requires a strong background in procurement and supply chain management, with the ability to drive process improvements, manage complex supplier relationships, and identify and implement cost optimization initiatives at scale. This role reports to the COO. Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and mentor a growing supply chain team, including setting clear goals, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Direct all supply chain activities, including material planning, procurement, supplier management, inventory control, and contract execution to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Establish and maintain high-level supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with supplier contracts and driving contract execution across all levels. Work to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective procurement. Review, improve, and standardize procurement processes and procedures leveraging our ERP (SAP Public Cloud). Implement systems and strategies that enhance the procurement function's effectiveness and continuously drive improvements in team performance and supplier performance. Leverage knowledge of market conditions and supply chain trends to forecast challenges and opportunities, ensuring strategic sourcing and procurement strategies align with company objectives. Share that feedback with estimating and delivery teams to support pricing initiatives.
Inventory & Cost Management:
Define and implement strategies for inventory management, achieving inventory turn targets while maintaining an on-time delivery performance. Continuously explore cost reduction opportunities. Oversee the maintenance of material master data, including updates within procurement systems. Expertise in SAP is essential for managing procurement processes and integration across other functions. Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for both internal team performance and external supplier performance to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives. Work closely with other departments (e.g., finance, engineering, manufacturing) to ensure alignment of procurement strategies with business goals. Provide expert guidance and support on procurement-related matters. About you Education & Experience A minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus. APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) or similar certifications are a plus. Skills & Abilities Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team. In-depth experience with SAP Public Cloud for procurement, materials management, and supply chain functions. Advanced experience with SAP or strong ERP mindset preferred. Solid understanding of building material market trends and their impact on procurement and supply chain operations. Ability to think long-term, develop strategic initiatives, and align procurement activities with broader organizational goals. Strong ability to think creatively, develop solutions, and drive process improvements. Proven track record of managing complex projects, particularly in procurement and supply chain management. Strong understanding of financial principles with the ability to perform cost/benefit analysis and budgeting. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
