JOB TITLE

Supply Chain Manager

LOCATION

Capewell Aerial Systems - South Windsor, CT

REPORTS TO:

Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Manager provides strategic and hands-on leadership for purchasing, production planning, scheduling, inventory control, receiving, and shipping. This role leads the supply chain team, strengthens supplier and cross-functional partnerships, and drives timely material flow, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement in support of customer and business objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership of purchasing, planning, scheduling, and overall MRP responsibilities in VISUAL Manufacturing ERP System.

Ensure timely delivery of purchased goods; raw, fabricated, and service items to support production delivery schedules.

Responsible for all work order generation to support customer delivery schedules.

Advises BD team and Sales of product availability and lead times.

Evaluate new vendors for qualifications as to quality / price / service.

Negotiate price, delivery, and terms with supply chain.

Expedite internal and external orders.

Update part parameters within the

VISUAL ERP

System.

Coordinates make/buy decisions including part structure with engineering.

Responsible for the management and development of the Supply Chain Team.

Supports and leads continuous improvement efforts in areas of responsibility.

Coordinates production needs with planning, manufacturing, and shipping.

Responsible for controlling inventory levels to annual goals.

Develop value-added relationships internally and externally.

Maintain a safe and clean work area.

Work cooperatively with other employees to meet department and company goals.

This position requires personal protective equipment on the shop floor where safety glasses and composite toe safety shoes are required by all.

OTHER DUTIES

Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors or management to support departmental and organizational objectives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct annual performance evaluations for all direct reports, ensuring timely, constructive feedback and alignment with organizational goals. Applies progressive discipline promptly and consistently, manages performance on a regular basis, and addresses issues as they arise.

Engage with team members regularly to ensure proactive conflict resolution, development, and alignment on tasks and priorities. Assist in the company's goal-setting process by recommending department goals and working with team members to assign individual goals

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, operations, or a related field required.

Minimum of five years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.

Minimum of three years of supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams and initiatives.

Experience working within an AS9100-compliant quality management system.

Strong knowledge of purchasing, production planning, scheduling, material requirements planning, inventory control, and cycle counting.

Demonstrated understanding of quote-to-cash processes and work order generation in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency with manufacturing ERP/MRP systems; experience with VISUAL Manufacturing ERP is preferred.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and related technical documentation.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with a demonstrated record of achieving operational results.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other standard business software.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, delegation, and team-development skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates in a typical office environment and requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical requirements may include:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling documents, and using office equipment.

Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds as needed.

Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and stakeholders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Position will work primarily in an office environment with a low noise level but may occasionally have exposure to the production floor with moderate to excessive noise.

This is a full-time, onsite position. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday 7:30AM - 5:00PM and every other Friday 7:30AM - 4:00PM with a 30-minute lunch break.

COMPENSATION

The hiring range for this position is $95,000 - $135,000. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
