Job Description

Job Summary:
The Materials & Logistics Manager is responsible for the overall management of aircraft parts, materials, inventory, stockroom, logistics, and shipping & receiving operations. This is a hands-on management role requiring strong aviation parts experience and the ability to independently run and develop the department. The ideal candidate will manage personnel, maintain inventory accuracy and parts traceability, support Maintenance and Operations, coordinate vendors and repair facilities, and ensure compliance with applicable FAA, company, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Department Management:
  • Manage daily Materials, Stockroom, Logistics, and Shipping & Receiving operations.
  • Lead, train, schedule, and supervise department personnel.
  • Establish priorities, procedures, and efficient workflows.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, workload, turnaround times, and department performance.
  • Identify issues and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
Parts & Inventory:
  • Manage aircraft parts and materials from receiving through storage, issuance, shipment, repair, return, and disposition.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, identification, labeling, storage, and traceability.
  • Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories; resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material requirements with Maintenance, Purchasing, Operations, and Management.
  • Manage rotable, expendable, repairable, exchange, and shelf-life items as applicable. Receiving, Shipping & Logistics
  • Oversee receipt and shipment of aircraft parts, components, and materials.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, condition, packaging, and required documentation.
  • Ensure proper packaging, labeling, documentation, and traceability.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments and resolve logistics issues. Repair & Vendor Management
  • Coordinate parts with vendors, repair stations, overhaul facilities, and service providers.
  • Track repair, overhaul, inspection, exchange, and return status.
  • Manage repair documentation, quotes, purchase orders, and turnaround times.
  • Maintain effective vendor relationships and resolve delays or material issues. Regulatory & Quality
  • Ensure department activities comply with applicable FAA regulations, company procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate aircraft parts records and documentation.
  • Support audits, inspections, and quality initiatives.
  • Properly control and segregate non-conforming or questionable parts.
  • Work with Quality and Maintenance to resolve discrepancies and maintain compliance. Cross Department Support
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Purchasing, Operations, Accounting, and Management to meet material requirements.
  • Provide visibility on inventory, shortages, incoming material, repairs, and logistics.
  • Ensure parts and materials are available to support aircraft maintenance and operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce delays, and strengthen material controls.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of aviation materials, parts, logistics, inventory, or related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft parts, material control, inventory, and traceability.
  • Experience in an MRO, airline, repair station, aircraft operator, or aviation parts environment preferred.
  • Experience with shipping & receiving, logistics, and aircraft parts inventory.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with inventory/ERP systems.
  • Ability to independently manage and operate a department.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance. Required Aviation Experience

Leadership Expectations:
This position is expected to run and develop the Materials & Logistics Department, not simply perform warehouse or inventory duties. The Manager will lead personnel, establish processes, maintain inventory and parts control, resolve material issues, and ensure the department effectively supports the company's aviation operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on aviation materials leader who brings structure, accountability, organization, and continuous improvement to the department.
Work Environment:
FAA‑regulated Repair Station warehouse environment. Exposure to aircraft parts, chemicals, and industrial equipment. Requires adherence to
PPE, FOD
control, and safety protocols. Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support operational requirements Require overtime or shift work based on operational needs
Pay:
$65,126.59 - $78,432.02 per year
