The University of Miami/UHealth Department Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Supervisor, Materials Management to work in Miami, FL. The Supervisor, Materials Management oversees and coordinates the activities of employees in charge of handling and transporting materials to and from different departments across the University. Additionally, the incumbent ensures that all material needs are met throughout the organization.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Approves or recommends selection of employees, and evaluates employee performance. Assigns schedules and duties to staff ensuring appropriate coverage. Reviews materials management inventory operations and procedures. Maintains materials management records, such as master inventory files, manufacturer information, catalogue numbers, and material descriptions. Stays informed of current, new, and obsolete materials. Organizes and maintains warehouse and inventory yard areas for efficient material storage and handling. Ensures appropriate levels of materials are maintained in stock. Evaluates staff performance to ensure departmental processes are being adhered to and dispatched calls are being addressed in a timely manner. Assists employees with tasks related to materials handling to address periods of high volume. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures. CORE QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required
