Job Description

LioChem, Incorporated is a leading manufacturer located in Conyers, GA, specializing in the production and distribution of high-quality materials. As a key member of our Shipping and Receiving team, the Logistics Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of raw materials and finished goods throughout our facility. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the Shipping and Receiving department, including inbound and outbound shipments, warehouse activities, and material movement. Supervise, train, and evaluate department employees; coordinate work assignments and ensure appropriate staffing levels. Plan and coordinate shipments to ensure timely delivery, accuracy, and cost efficiency. Ensure the safe handling, packaging, storage, and transportation of materials, including hazardous materials, in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations. Manage facility-wide forklift compliance, including operator training, certification, inspections, documentation, and adherence to safe operating practices. Negotiate transportation rates and manage relationships with carriers to maintain competitive pricing and service levels. Address and resolve shipping and receiving issues, such as delays, damages, discrepancies, and non-compliance incidents. Maintain accurate records related to shipments, transportation costs, hazardous materials, and forklift compliance. Ensure Shipping and Receiving areas are kept clean, organized, and safe. Identify and implement improvements to departmental processes, safety, efficiency, and accuracy. Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, EHS, Customer Service, and other departments to support operational and customer needs. Support material handling activities as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, warehousing, supply chain, or a related field required. Previous supervisory or management experience required. Knowledge of shipping, receiving, warehousing, transportation, and safe material handling practices. Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, EPA, hazardous material, and forklift compliance requirements. Strong leadership, employee development, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong negotiation and carrier/vendor management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment. Proficient with SAP or similar ERP systems. Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks and lift up to 55 lbs. Degree or certification in logistics, supply chain management, business, or related field preferred. Experience with hazardous materials, transportation negotiations, and forklift compliance preferred. Experience and License Requirements Logistics and Warehousing Supervisory Management
