Logistics Manager Job Description Role Summary The Logistics Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Kitchen Director and the team at Chick-fil-A Forsyth. They oversee logistics and supply chain operations, manage inventory, coordinate supply orders, and ensure the maintenance and proper functioning of restaurant equipment and facilities. Their responsibilities focus on planning, organizing, and implementing strategies to keep operations running smoothly, with an emphasis on food safety, preventive maintenance, and supply readiness. The Logistics Manager also assists and leads the team in the normal operation of the restaurant. They are organized, detail-oriented, and dedicated to ensuring operational excellence. Expectations Serve as a trusted logistics partner to the Executive Director and Kitchen Director. Demonstrate exceptional organizational and planning skills. Ensure inventory levels are carefully managed to support just-in-time operations, minimizing waste and avoiding shortages or excess stock. Prioritize food safety by maintaining proper storage, handling, regular audits, and a clean, organized environment. Coordinate preventative maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment and facilities, ensuring completion by internal team members and external vendors. Collaborate with team leaders to ensure seamless communication of logistical needs. Identify and resolve logistical challenges proactively. Develop other leaders to assist and execute aspects of the Logistics Manager's role, creating redundancy through a PACE plan (Primary, Alternate, Contingency, Emergency) for critical logistical tasks. Get results, hunger for wisdom, and increase personal leadership capacity. Directly provide leadership, management, and accountability by leading shifts. Primary Responsibilities Build and train a leadership pipeline to ensure redundancy with a PACE plan for key logistical tasks, enabling seamless continuity in operations. Prioritize food safety by integrating proper storage and handling practices, along with regular audits, into logistical processes to ensure compliance and reduce risks. Manage budgets for supply orders, maintenance, and inventory to align with restaurant financial goals. Oversee ordering, receiving, and inventory for food, paper, produce, cleaning supplies, and kitchen supplies while training others to assist with these tasks. Request and ensure credit for expired, damaged, or incorrectly delivered items, maintaining vendor accountability. Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits. Ensure compliance with Chick-fil-A corporate standards and local regulations regarding supplies, cleanliness, and maintenance. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies and services. Oversee preventative maintenance programs for the restaurant facility and equipment. Schedule and manage cleaning and maintenance services for the facility. Support shift leaders and managers with logistical resources needed for daily operations. Primary Tasks Daily Monitor and adjust inventory levels; place replenishment orders as needed. Coordinate supply deliveries and ensure proper storage. Respond to immediate maintenance or logistical needs during shifts. Weekly Review inventory and usage trends to adjust ordering practices. Inspect equipment and facilities for maintenance needs. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to align logistical support with operational goals. Monthly/Quarterly Conduct full inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies. Review and update preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring timely completion. Analyze supply and maintenance costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements while staying within budget.
