Job Description

Essential Functions:
The Materials /Logistics Manager is responsible for:
  • Plan and forecast material needs to meet production schedules.
  • Oversee procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies, utilizing GMP and company procedures, including placing Purchase Orders.
  • Provide means to forecast spending, tracking spending vs budget, and tracking material supply vs delivery date.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance.
  • Issue raw materials and sub-assemblies to production utilizing existing ERP systems and news systems if/when implemented.
  • Maintain accurate records of material usage and stock levels of all manufacturing materials (raw materials through Finished Goods).
  • Provide monthly inventory information to Finance month end closing.
  • Maintain GMP compliant storage of materials ensuring good separation of materials, labelling, and control of access of materials.
  • Ensuring correct materials are used for production work orders
  • Issuing and maintaining Production Work Orders using current and if/wen new system within a GMP compliant manner.
  • Ensuring all materials are accounted for after completion of Work Order.
  • Ship all products in a timely manner (domestically and internationally), with effective communication to customer and to internal sources as needed. Ensure all proper GMP compliant procedures are followed where applicable.
  • Receive in-bound shipments, verifying shipment packaging, contents, number of pieces per shipment, comparison to PO, notification to QA where applicable or notification to individuals where applicable. Ensuring proper documentation is completed in a GMP compliant manner.
  • Ensure a clean, orderly, safe workplace including storage and dock areas.
  • Provide shipment and receiving of materials on a regular 5 day week timeframe with the need for Saturday if/when required.
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation of the shipping process for domestic and international shipping.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Routine responsibilities include:
Materials & Shipping Management Maintaining accurate and up-to-date inventory and scrap databases and reporting. Maintain and manage a shipment log of all items shipped from Plasma Surgical. Organize and manage the materials in the shipping area to maintain a safe and efficient work space. Meeting with Director of Manufacturing and designated Production Associate or Console Tech to routinely review material status and forecast. Maintaining, issuing, and executing handpiece DHR paperwork. Working, in cooperation with other functional groups, to ship/receive product and materials. Works with the Production teams, ensuring effective kitting of production jobs. Performs material inventory analysis and reporting monthly. Assists with material strategies to ensure adherence to production and material objectives. Ensures sub-assembly and component materials flow into and out of production without interruption. Recommends improvements in the management of materials by identifying and avoiding shortages of critical path items. Adheres to and demonstrates compliance with all company and department standard operating procedures including but not limited to GMP, work instructions, procedural documentation, and safety requirements. Shipment of sales orders and materials as required, utilizing the First Expired/First Out method for Handpiece shipments with no shipment made with less than 6 months expiration unless approved by senior leadership. Uses FedEx/UPS systems where applicable for shipping. Coordinating cleaning, housekeeping and pest controls to ensure compliance.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Educated to Bachelor's degree level; ideally with a scientific or engineering background or equivalent technical experience. Demonstrates a sense of urgency, when required, to meet demands of company/customer needs. Collaboration skills to work with all departments within the company. Excellent planning, organizing, and communicating skills. Good working knowledge of medical device manufacturing requirements and FDA QSR's (21 CFR 820) and
ISO 13485
compliance guidelines' risk management and FMEA creation. FedEx/UPS shipping software and programs. Lot generation, First-In-First-Out (FIFO) inventory management, Kanban system methodology.
