Job Description
Essential Functions:
The Materials /Logistics Manager is responsible for:- Plan and forecast material needs to meet production schedules.
- Oversee procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies, utilizing GMP and company procedures, including placing Purchase Orders.
- Provide means to forecast spending, tracking spending vs budget, and tracking material supply vs delivery date.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance.
- Issue raw materials and sub-assemblies to production utilizing existing ERP systems and news systems if/when implemented.
- Maintain accurate records of material usage and stock levels of all manufacturing materials (raw materials through Finished Goods).
- Provide monthly inventory information to Finance month end closing.
- Maintain GMP compliant storage of materials ensuring good separation of materials, labelling, and control of access of materials.
- Ensuring correct materials are used for production work orders
- Issuing and maintaining Production Work Orders using current and if/wen new system within a GMP compliant manner.
- Ensuring all materials are accounted for after completion of Work Order.
- Ship all products in a timely manner (domestically and internationally), with effective communication to customer and to internal sources as needed. Ensure all proper GMP compliant procedures are followed where applicable.
- Receive in-bound shipments, verifying shipment packaging, contents, number of pieces per shipment, comparison to PO, notification to QA where applicable or notification to individuals where applicable. Ensuring proper documentation is completed in a GMP compliant manner.
- Ensure a clean, orderly, safe workplace including storage and dock areas.
- Provide shipment and receiving of materials on a regular 5 day week timeframe with the need for Saturday if/when required.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation of the shipping process for domestic and international shipping.
- Other duties as assigned.
