Rate:

$40/hr Our client in Wood Dale, Illinois is seeking an Inventory Control Manager to join their team on a contract to hire basis! This is a fully onsite position and will include potential travel to their Franklin, WI location once per month.

Day-to-Day:

Lead inventory control and warehouse operations across two adjacent buildings supporting production and distribution. Directly manage two supervisors and oversee a total floor team of nine employees. Conduct reviews, set goals, coach supervisors, identify leadership gaps, and determine training needs. Monitor inventory levels, accuracy, discrepancies, stock rotation, slow-moving products, and inventory turns. Partner with Purchasing on product returns and the handling of slow-moving inventory. Oversee cycle counts and create plans for full physical inventories. Maintain accurate inventory, shipping, and receiving records. Resolve item-location, stock-number, cost-adjustment, and build-to-stock discrepancies. Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Finance to resolve operational issues. Negotiate rates and agreements with UPS, FedEx, LTL carriers, 3PL providers, and other vendors. Ensure productivity, quality, service, staffing, and holiday-coverage goals are met. Qualifications 3-5+ years of inventory control, warehouse, distribution, purchasing, or related operations experience, including management responsibility. Experience managing employees and developing supervisors through coaching, training, reviews, and accountability. Ability to lead through supervisors rather than personally performing daily warehouse tasks. Knowledge of inventory systems, cycle counts, physical inventories, stock rotation, discrepancies, and inventory turns. Experience improving warehouse or inventory processes and collaborating across departments. Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work onsite in Wood Dale and travel periodically to Franklin, Wisconsin. Flexibility for occasional Saturday coverage. This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision
