JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Title:
Overnight (10:00 pm start time)Logistics Supervisor Reports to:Logistics Manager FLSA Status:
Salary Exempt Job Purpose:
Primary function of the job is to provide day-to-day supervision and administrative representation for dispatch, while also performing general dispatch duties to support the department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
(may include but are not limited to the following) The On-Site Supervisor provides guidance for their location managing workflow/task execution and the integration of all functions to the site. Acts as first line supervisor for designated dispatch staff. Monitors and validates the accuracy of entries into the TMW TruckMate system, including filing and maintaining paperwork associated with TMW entries. Takes emergency and non-emergency requests for assistance, dispatching appropriate unit and maintaining contact with responding units to gather and supply information. Provides assistance to all dispatch related matters Will cover any open shift or person when necessary to cover for staff due to unexpected occurrences, etc. Maintains on-going communication and coordination of activities between Dispatch and all carrier transportation needs including Management and in some cases Customer Monitors each carrier's on-time deliveries, equipment availability, ensuring equipment is properly maintained in order to ensure no mechanical break downs or delayed deliveries Will manage the Yard for yard planning. This will help Improve yard throughput, Dock door turns, labor productivity, gate and equipment utilization, Improve communication, reduce congestion at the yards/gate/parking, and ultimately reduce late deliveries May perform other support staff functions as requested by manager. Education and/orExperience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. supplemented by advanced college coursework in data processing or related field. Two to four years of directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may substitute if there is demonstrated knowledge ability and skills to perform the work. Understanding of DOT rules and regulations, vehicle weight capacity and load spec's, etc. Ability to work graveyard hours, weekends, holidays, and OT- flexibility of schedule is a must! Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in coaching, counseling and conflict resolution. Exceptional organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage stress in self and others within a fast-paced environment, adapting readily to change.Computer System Skills:

Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, etc. Advanced knowledge related to the department functions Ability to detect errors, determine causes, and make corrections as appropriate Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with customers, co-workers, and representatives of other agencies. Must be able to interact with all levels of upper management and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, bilingual is a plus. Must be able to manage and lead a diverse workforce.
