Materials Manager Midway Products Group, INC United States, Indiana, Hudson Aug 19, 2026 Description Under general supervision of the Plant Manager, is responsible for the overall control and movement of materials in and out of the plant. Directs and administers purchasing, production scheduling, inventory control, warehousing sales order entry, customer service, traffic and shipping.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Plans and organizes activities of material control department to best utilize personnel to achieve short
  • and long-range goals.
2. Provides for training of department personnel. 3. Ensures that standard procedures are followed in connection of purchases of material and services. 4. Participates in preparations of annual forecasts with the sales division. 5. Devises methods and policies ensuring most efficient and economical movement of all material in and out of plants. 6. Analyzes and evaluates inventory and delivery problems and recommends solutions. 7. Coordinates functions related to production and inventory control, and reviews completed sales orders. Has authority to assign work assignments within department. 8. Maintains liaison among plants, sales divisions, and warehouses to provide efficient Customer delivery service. Has authority to make decisions regarding materials and delivery. 9. Participates in capital purchases. 10. Authorized to purchase materials, supplies, and our processing not on established blanket orders. This is done through communication with corporate Materials Control. 11. Lead and support LTA, MOS and Continuous Improvement programs. 12. Performs other essential functions as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Prefer bachelor's degree in business or operations and at least 8 years' experience, preferably with an automotive supplier.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Ability to understand and execute contracts relating to materials purchases and deliveries.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements include regularly spending time on the manufacturing plant floor, with prolonged standing, walking and exposure to typical production environments (noise, PPE use and occasional lifting). Qualifications Behaviors Detail Oriented
