Job Description
Position Summary The Logistics Manager is responsible for leading all transportation, shipping, receiving, warehousing, and distribution activities for Packaging Specialties. This position ensures the efficient movement of packaging products and raw materials while maintaining exceptional customer service, controlling transportation costs, and supporting on-time delivery performance. The Logistics Manager works closely with Sales, Customer Service, Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.

To further bolster our expanding operations, we seek an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our dynamic team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, direct, and oversee all inbound and outbound logistics operations. Manage domestic freight, carrier relationships, and transportation contracts to achieve cost-effective and reliable delivery performance. Coordinate daily shipment schedules to meet customer delivery requirements. Monitor shipping performance, delivery accuracy, and transportation costs. Collaborate with production planning to ensure finished goods are available for customer shipments. Oversee warehouse shipping and receiving operations to maximize efficiency and inventory accuracy. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics, including on-time delivery, freight expense, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency, reduce freight costs, and streamline logistics processes. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, and all applicable transportation and safety requirements. Manage third-party logistics providers (3PLs), parcel carriers, and common carriers. Resolve shipping issues, customer delivery concerns, and transportation disruptions in a timely manner. Partner with Purchasing to coordinate inbound materials and supplier deliveries. Utilize ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to manage logistics activities and reporting. Prepare monthly logistics reports, freight analysis, and budget performance summaries. Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate logistics, shipping, and receiving personnel. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations related to warehouse operations.
- Identify training needs and provide guidance and coaching to warehouse team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, preventing shortages or excess stock through effective inventory control methods.
