Materials Management Mechanic/Driver CDL-A Position Overview:
The Mechanic specializes in monitoring and tracking maintenance on trucks. This includes minor repairs and helping decide what should be sourced out. Maintaining, and inspecting machinery and mechanical equipment. They work with a variety of tools and techniques to ensure that equipment operates safely and efficiently. Equipment mechanics are critical to Materials Management where heavy machinery is essential for daily operations. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
Mechanic Responsibilities & Duties:
Driving a semi truck, this position requires local travel only. Approximately two hours round trip up to three trips a day. Monitoring and tracking truck maintenance and maintaining a maintenance log Inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose issues. Perform repairs and maintenance on various types of equipment. Replace defective parts and components as needed. Lubricate moving parts and conduct routine maintenance checks. Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair work. Follow safety regulations and procedures while working. Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively. Educate operators on proper equipment usage and maintenance. Maintain inventory of tools and parts required for repairs. Test performance of repaired equipment before return to service.
