This position is based in Lake Orion, Michigan , supporting General Motors operations within a high-volume warehouse environment focused on pick and pack, sequencing, inventory management, and material flow. We are seeking a hands-on Materials Supervisor to lead daily inventory and material movement activities while ensuring customer production requirements are met safely, efficiently, and accurately.
Shifts Available:
2nd shift: Monday - Friday / 2:00pm - 10:30pm Responsibilities Supervise daily material handling, inventory control, and warehouse operations Ensure materials are available and delivered to support customer production schedules Lead a team of hourly associates responsible for receiving, storage, sequencing, picking, packing, and material movement Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and process compliance Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and material flow issues Coordinate inbound and outbound material movement to meet customer requirements Track operational KPIs related to inventory accuracy, productivity, quality, and safety Ensure compliance with customer requirements, company policies, and safety standards Develop work schedules and support daily labor planning activities Provide employee coaching, training, performance management, and accountability Communicate operational updates, concerns, and production impacts to management Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, inventory accuracy, and customer service Maintain accurate reporting and inventory documentation Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Customer teams to support overall facility performance Qualifications 2+ years of leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, materials management, manufacturing, or supply chain operations Previous experience overseeing inventory, material flow, or warehouse operations Strong knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, sequencing, and material handling processes Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing or automotive operations preferred Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced operational environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining customer service expectations Continuous improvement mindset focused on safety, quality, and operational performance Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
