This role is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials required to support our assembly operations and repair parts demand, while optimizing supplier performance, inventory investment, and warehouse efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong procurement and supplier management expertise who can also execute tactically in a fast-paced environment. This individual will work cross-functionally with Engineering and Production, Planning, and Finance to ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Ensure the timely execution of purchase orders and according to established min/max thresholds Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct and indirect spend categories. Identify, evaluate, qualify, and manage suppliers to support business growth and operational requirements. Lead RFQ, RFP, and supplier selection processes. Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, lead times, service agreements, and supplier performance expectations. Conduct total cost of ownership analyses and supplier benchmarking activities. Develop dual-source and risk mitigation strategies for critical materials and components. Collaborate with Engineering on value engineering and cost reduction initiatives. Drive annual cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives. Vendor Management Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships. Develop supplier scorecards and performance management programs. Conduct quarterly supplier business reviews.
Monitor supplier performance related to:
Cost Quality Delivery Responsiveness Lead Times Resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective action plans. Identify strategic supplier partnerships that improve competitiveness and operational performance. Manage supplier contracts and ensure compliance with negotiated agreements. Inventory Management Develop inventory strategies that balance customer service requirements with working capital objectives. Monitor inventory levels, turns, safety stock, and replenishment parameters. Analyze demand patterns and material requirements to optimize inventory investment. Partner with Production Planning to ensure material availability supports manufacturing schedules. Reduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory. Develop inventory reporting and KPI dashboards. Lead annual physical inventory activities and cycle count programs. Warehouse Operations Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory storage, material handling, and shipping support. Ensure inventory accuracy and transaction integrity within ERP systems. Establish and maintain warehouse organization and material flow processes. Implement best practices for warehouse safety, efficiency, and productivity. Develop procedures for inventory control and material movement. Optimize warehouse space utilization and storage strategies. Partner with Production to improve material staging and line-side replenishment processes. Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate with Production, Planning, Engineering, Finance, and Operations teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives. Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and production planning processes. Communicate supply risks, inventory concerns, and supplier performance issues proactively. Support new product introductions and engineering changes. Continuous Improvement Lead supply chain process improvement initiatives. Develop metrics and reporting to improve supply chain visibility and decision-making. Identify opportunities to improve service levels, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency. Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement programs throughout the organization. Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred. Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, or CPM are a plus. Experience 7+ years of progressive supply chain, sourcing, procurement, or materials management experience. 3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated success negotiating supplier agreements and managing strategic supplier relationships. Experience managing inventory control and warehouse operations. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain analytics. Skills & Competencies Advanced sourcing and procurement expertise. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
