Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Logistics Supervisor to lead our supply chain operations. In this pivotal role, the Logistics Supervisor develops, implements, and optimizes plans for the storage, movement, and distribution of goods and materials across the supply chain, and directs traffic management functions including carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and freight cost control. This role analyzes supply chain performance to identify improvement opportunities and recommends strategies that reduce costs and delivery times. The position supervises a Logistics Specialist and requires strong analytical, Excel, and negotiation skills, along with sound judgment in a fast-paced and a results driven environment. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and optimize plans for the storage, movement, and distribution of goods and materials within the supply chain. Analyze supply chain functions to identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to reduce cost and delivery times. Source, evaluate, and manage trucking carriers; negotiate rates and service contracts. Lead or support transportation RFP processes; analyze bids and recommend cost- effective awards. Utilize DAT.com data and other benchmarks to identify and implement freight savings opportunities. Utilize LTL TMS portals to validate rates and secure new quotes. Maintain accurate freight tariffs, rate tables, and carrier performance data. Audit and approve payment of freight bills. Analyze logistics and traffic data and prepare cost and performance reports for management. Supervise and develop the Logistics Specialist, including assigning work, monitoring performance, and providing coaching. Coordinate scheduling between warehouses and carriers; troubleshoot broker and carrier problems. Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure delivery alignment and problem resolution. Maintain compliance with company and regulatory shipping standards Other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, traffic management, or freight planning. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position Practical experience managing logistics or warehouse functions. Demonstrated negotiation experience with suppliers and carriers. Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred. Understanding of accounting principles related to freight cost reporting and budgeting. Advanced organization and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced computer skills using Excel and ERP systems. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as a member of a team.
