The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing and performing the day-to-day operations of our Farm. This includes supervising crew members, maintaining the health and organization of plant material, overseeing equipment and property maintenance, coordinating incoming and outgoing deliveries, ensuring adherence to company policies, and handling related administrative duties such as payroll and safety compliance.
Core Responsibilities:
Crew Management & Training Supervise and direct daily tasks of the crew working in the distribution and holding yard. Provide hands-on training to crew members on: Reading and executing outgoing delivery pick tickets. Accepting and properly checking in incoming deliveries. Following company policies for inventory, material handling, and delivery procedures. Conduct regular safety talks and ensure compliance with all safety protocols. Monitor individual and team performance and communicate expectations clearly. Plant & Yard Operations Oversee the general care, maintenance, and organization of all plant material on the property. Support seasonal growing efforts and ensure plants are maintained in optimal health. Organize material to facilitate efficient access and minimize damage or loss. Track and maintain accurate inventory of all plant material and hardgoods. Property & Equipment Oversight Ensure all tools, vehicles, machinery, and equipment are in proper working condition. Schedule and document regular equipment maintenance or repairs as needed. Maintain general order and cleanliness of the property. Delivery & Inventory Coordination Ensure outgoing deliveries are prepared accurately and in a timely manner. Supervise the receiving and verification process for all incoming materials. Ensure proper tagging, logging, and storage of incoming inventory per company procedures. Administrative & Compliance Duties Submit weekly payroll reports for crew. Document all safety meetings, equipment issues, and crew incidents as required. Enforce compliance with company policies and operational procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Prior supervisory experience in a nursery, distribution yard, landscape, or agricultural setting. Strong knowledge of plant material and handling best practices. Ability to train others and lead by example in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting delivery paperwork and inventory documentation. Organized and detail-oriented; capable of managing multiple priorities. Must be comfortable working outdoors year-round. Valid driver's license required. Forklift or equipment experience a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
