Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of OR Materials & Procedural Areas, the Assistant Director supports the operational and strategic oversight of materials management services for operating rooms and procedural areas across multiple locations. This role provides direct supervision of departmental staff and oversees functions including purchasing, receiving, inventory management, surgical case picking, tissue tracking, equipment repairs, billing CDMs, and supply distribution. Working closely with clinical teams and Value Analysis, the Assistant Director helps evaluate new products and manage supply utilization to support high-quality, cost-effective patient care. The incumbent continuously assesses workflows and inventory practices to improve efficiency, support departmental growth, and ensure compliance with institutional product and equipment recall processes. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills, the ability to build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to analyze financial and operational data to support informed decision-making and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of progressive supply chain management experience required. Two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience required. Experience utilizing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for inventory management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience supporting operating room materials management or procedural areas. Familiarity with Lawson, Business Objects, and Tableau. Master's degree preferred.
