Job Description

Shipping & Logistics Supervisor Location:
Wilmington, OH Compensation:
$70,000-$80,000 + 15% Annual Performance Bonus Direct Hire | Exempt Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Logistics Supervisor to lead shipping, warehouse, finished goods, and logistics operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, accurate, and compliant movement of products both domestically and internationally while driving continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in import/export logistics, customs compliance, HTS classifications, freight management, and team leadership . Key Responsibilities Supervise shipping, warehouse, finished goods, documentation, and logistics personnel. Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate team members while fostering a positive work environment. Manage employee scheduling, attendance, and performance. Partner with Planning, Customer Service, Engineering, and Operations to ensure on-time product shipments. Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly departmental priorities. Monitor departmental KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct annual performance reviews and support employee development. Lead safety initiatives and perform accident investigations when necessary. Manage CAPA and continuous improvement projects. Logistics & Trade Compliance Oversee domestic and international shipping operations. Determine the most efficient and cost-effective transportation methods. Ensure compliance with all domestic and international shipping regulations. Manage import/export documentation, including: Commercial invoices Packing lists Bills of lading Certificates of origin Customs documentation Coordinate and maintain accurate HTS classifications.
Monitor changes to:
Tariff requirements Country-of-origin regulations Incoterms Trade compliance requirements Partner with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and government agencies to resolve shipment issues. Support customs audits, duty calculations, and compliance recordkeeping. Investigate freight shortages, damage claims, and transportation cost discrepancies. Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs while maintaining customer service levels. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience. Previous supervisory experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics operations. 5+ years of experience with: Import/export compliance Customs documentation HTS classifications Tariff regulations Country-of-origin requirements Incoterms Customs brokers and freight forwarders Experience with ERP systems and shipping or global trade management software. Strong understanding of domestic and international freight operations. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven leadership and employee development experience. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong Microsoft Office skills.
