Storeroom Manager Role Purpose / Mission The Storeroom Manager is responsible for overseeing all Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) inventory at the plant level. This role ensures the availability, accuracy, and consistency of critical maintenance and operations supplies through systematic planning and consistent and clear communication. The Storeroom Manager collaborates closely with maintenance, engineering, procurement, and operations to reduce downtime, optimize cost, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position is key to sustaining Webco's values of reliability, teamwork, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Manage MRO inventory levels to ensure availability for production, maintenance, and facility operations. Manages emergency and urgent purchases to support equipment downtime, projects, and other critical tasks. Monitor inventory metrics, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain accurate records in ERP systems. Collaborate and communicates effectively with procurement, operations, and maintenance teams to meet and forecast demand and plan replenishment. Oversee receiving, storage, and issue of MRO materials to internal stakeholders. Build a cohesive team that can meet the supply needs of the plant and keep operations running. Lead MRO team members, including storeroom attendants, storeroom forklift drivers, and entry attendants, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback. Analyze and optimize inventory turnover, carrying costs, and supplier lead times. Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and favorable terms. Develop reporting and KPIs to track MRO inventory performance, usage, and cost savings. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management, material flow, and storage efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in MRO storage and handling. Required & Preferred Qualifications Required:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
3-5+ years of MRO or inventory management experience, preferably across multiple sites.
Systems Knowledge:
Proficiency in inventory or CMMS systems; Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge:
Understanding of part standardization, cycle counts, inventory forecasting, and vendor management.
Attitude:
A positive, service‑oriented attitude while working under pressure, maintaining composure.
Team-Development:
Ability to develop and maintain a cohesive team focused on reliably serving key customers.
Preferred:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Operations, or equivalent experience.
Certifications:
Certification in Inventory Management (CPIM, CIRM, etc.)
Industry Experience:
Experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance environments.
Process Improvement:
Demonstrated success in improving or standardizing MRO processes or systems.
System Implementation:
Involvement in new inventory or maintenance system rollouts or upgrades. Typical Physical Demands Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per day on a regular basis. May require extended hours during audits, inventory implementations, or emergencies. Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, squatting, kneeling, and walking warehouse or shop floors. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Uses standard office equipment and handheld inventory tools. May walk or stand in warehouse or maintenance areas for prolonged periods. Typical Working Conditions Works in both office and warehouse/storage environments. Office spaces are clean, climate-controlled, and low-noise. Warehouses and plant areas may include exposure to noise, dust, metal parts, and moving machinery. Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and other equipment based on location-specific policies. Some travel between Webco facilities required to support site inventory alignment and audits. .
