Supply Chain Management Full Job Description Overview:
Surgical Investors & Advisors (SIA) is seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain Operations to lead procurement and supply chain performance across our growing portfolio of ambulatory surgery centers. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for procurement, strategic sourcing, contracting, GPO optimization, distributor and vendor management, inventory performance, cost reduction, and supply chain operations across multiple facilities. The Director will work closely with SIA executive leadership, facility administrators, clinical operations, finance, development teams, physicians, and health-system partners to ensure our surgery centers have the right products, equipment, services, contracts, and supplier relationships in place to operate efficiently and support high-quality patient care. The role also plays an integral part in de novo ASC development and new-center activation , building the supply chain infrastructure necessary to take new facilities from development through operational readiness. 50% regional travel is required for this role . (Georgia, North Carolina & South Carolina)
What You Will Lead:
Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Lead portfolio-wide procurement, competitive sourcing, RFPs, supplier negotiations, contract implementation, and purchasing controls. Evaluate total cost—not simply unit price—to drive sound purchasing decisions across supplies, implants, equipment, technology, and contracted services. GPO & Contract Optimization Manage GPO participation and contract performance across the portfolio, including tier optimization, pricing activation, contract compliance, rebates, credits, and identification of off-contract or incorrectly priced spend. Distributor & Vendor Performance Lead relationships with medical-surgical and pharmaceutical distributors, manufacturers, service vendors, and other strategic partners. Establish measurable expectations for pricing accuracy, fill rates, backorders, delivery performance, credits, returns, service levels, and issue resolution. Cost & Inventory Performance Use spend, utilization, inventory, physician-preference, and case-cost data to identify opportunities for savings and operational improvement. Lead initiatives involving product standardization, inventory optimization, consignment, contract compliance, utilization management, and service consolidation. ASC Development & Activation Own the supply chain workstream for new ASCs, expansions, and service-line launches. Coordinate GPO enrollment, distributor setup, procurement systems, initial stocking, physician-preference items, capital equipment, vendor activation, contracts, and supply chain readiness before opening. Team Leadership Lead and develop SIA's supply chain, procurement, and materials team. Establish clear priorities, accountability, standardized processes, performance expectations, cross-training, and consistent support across the portfolio. Executive & Facility Partnership Provide leadership with clear financial analyses, recommendations, dashboards, and visibility into supply chain performance, savings opportunities, contract risks, vendor performance, and new-center readiness.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a supply chain leader who understands the unique operational and financial dynamics of healthcare—and ideally ambulatory surgery centers.
The successful candidate will bring:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in healthcare supply chain, procurement, strategic sourcing, contracting, distribution, or materials management , including leadership responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare or ASC procurement, GPO contracting, medical-surgical distribution, implants and physician-preference items, capital equipment, service agreements, and inventory management .
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and implementing agreements with distributors, manufacturers, GPOs, and service vendors.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including spend analysis, contract modeling, budgeting, savings validation, case costing, and total-cost analysis.
  • Experience developing effective procurement controls, approval processes, contract-management practices, and procure-to-pay workflows.
  • Strong negotiation, project-management, problem-solving, and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple facilities, projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, finance, healthcare administration, or a related field; equivalent directly relevant experience may be considered.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% based on business needs.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working directly with ambulatory surgery centers or multi-site healthcare organizations is strongly preferred. Additional preferred qualifications include experience with:
  • De novo ASC development and facility activation
  • Multi-site or geographically dispersed supply chain operations
  • Physician-preference items and implant contracting
  • GPO tier and contract optimization
  • Healthcare inventory and procurement platforms such as Envi
  • Relevant supply chain, procurement, healthcare, or materials-management certification
What Success Looks Like:
The Director of Supply Chain Operations will create a disciplined, scalable supply chain model that produces measurable results across the SIA portfolio. Success will be reflected in stronger purchasing economics, measurable cost savings, optimized GPO and contract performance, accurate pricing, disciplined inventory management, reliable vendor performance, successful ASC activations, and a high-performing supply chain team . This role is well suited for a healthcare supply chain leader who enjoys combining procurement strategy, financial analysis, operational execution, and team leadership —and who wants the opportunity to directly influence the performance and growth of a multi-site ASC portfolio.
