Based on qualifications and experience Position Summary Phoenix Labor Group is recruiting a Supply Chain Manager for a shipyard client. This full-time leadership position oversees Purchasing, Planning and Scheduling, and Material Control. The role aligns procurement, supplier performance, production planning, material availability, inventory, logistics, budgets, engineering priorities, and vessel-construction schedules. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and coordinate Purchasing, Planning and Scheduling, and Material Control teams, including priorities, procedures, staffing, training, and performance expectations. Connect engineering releases, bills of material, work packages, procurement, receiving, warehousing, kitting, and production need dates through disciplined processes. Oversee requisitions, RFQs, bid evaluations, purchase orders, approvals, expediting, supplier negotiations, and procurement records. Manage supplier sourcing, qualification, performance, corrective actions, long-lead items, overdue commitments, and recovery plans. Oversee project schedules, production priorities, work packages, engineering need dates, material readiness, and resource reporting. Direct receiving, warehousing, inventory control, preservation, kitting, staging, shipping, traceability, audits, and cycle counts. Partner with Engineering, Project Management, Production, Quality, and Finance to resolve material, schedule, cost, invoice, and supplier issues. Develop meaningful KPIs and weekly and monthly reporting for procurement, budget performance, schedule health, inventory accuracy, and corrective actions. Drive cost reduction, standardization, material-flow improvements, data integrity, and continuous improvement without compromising safety or quality. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience. Seven or more years of progressive experience in purchasing, production planning, material control, supply chain, or operations in shipbuilding, marine construction, heavy manufacturing, defense, or a comparable project-based environment. Three or more years of experience leading supervisors, managers, or multidisciplinary teams. Experience with project schedules, budgets, bills of material, purchase orders, supplier negotiations, inventory controls, material requirements, and performance reporting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and working proficiency with Microsoft Project and enterprise procurement, planning, or inventory systems. Strong communication, negotiation, analysis, organization, problem-solving, accountability, and follow-through skills. Preferred Qualifications Direct shipyard, vessel construction, vessel repair, or marine-systems experience. Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects with long-lead equipment, engineered materials, or customer and regulatory hold points. CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, or comparable professional certification. Knowledge of quality systems, controlled materials, supplier quality, and continuous-improvement methods. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This role may require work in office, shipyard, fabrication, waterfront, and onboard-vessel environments.
