Job Summary SMSI is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to oversee the receipt, storage, inventory, and tracking of construction materials and process equipment in support of our client at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. This role will ensure materials are properly managed, accounted for, and readily available to support project needs and maintain efficient operations. Responsibilities Coordinate shipment schedules from multiple suppliers to ensure timely delivery to the receiving location. Communicate with suppliers to confirm shipment details, including quantities, size, storage, handling and transportation requirements. Track and monitor incoming shipments to identify delays, discrepancies, or issues that need resolution. Coordinate and oversee security ingress to site for oversized shipments. Oversee receiving activities, ensuring materials are checked in accurately and documented properly. Verify the condition and accuracy of received materials against purchase orders and packing lists. Identify and report any inventory inaccuracies, damaged goods, or shipment errors. Arrange and coordinate transportation of received materials from the receiving location to the warehouse. Work with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage, organization, and inventory tracking. Work with construction to track and release materials for installation to keep multiple work paths progressing. Ensure materials received are transported to proper storage level location. Oversee preliminary unpacking and assembly for transfer to construction install. Inform project scheduler of delays, recovery activities, and contingency actions to mitigate construction install delays. Required Skills/ Abilities Minimum 5 years of experience in materials management or similar role. Knowledge of DOE site regulations and site-specific procedures. Strong organizational and logistics skills. Familiarity with inventory management systems. Ability to work in high-security, highly regulated industrial environments. Ability to read equipment manuals to understand material storage and assembly requirements. Knowledge of Project Schedule Techniques to map out tasks, sequence activities, and manage timelines effectively. The candidate must be US Citizen. The candidate must have an active DOE Q clearance. The candidate must have an active Real ID driver's license for badging and onboarding. Education High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
