The company headquarters is in Barcelona, Spain and for over 50 years CAPE has been designing and building high-performance industrial machinery for clients around the globe. CAPE North America is strategically located in the heart of the Upstate SC manufacturing corridor; we are building a world-class team from the ground up to serve our customer base throughout the US and Canada — and we want you to be part of it. Position Summary The Parts Manager is a key operational leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of parts procurement, inventory control, warehousing, and distribution at our Duncan, SC manufacturing facility. This individual will manage the full lifecycle of mechanical, electrical, and consumable parts — from sourcing and purchasing through receipt, storage, and issuance to the production floor. The ideal candidate brings proven parts or inventory management experience from a manufacturing or industrial setting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required due to the regular need to communicate with English- and Spanish-speaking personnel, vendors, and suppliers and to support the bilingual responsibilities of this position.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Parts Management:
Establish and manage the parts room from the ground up, including shelving organization, part numbering, and bin labeling systems Maintain accurate inventory levels of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and consumable parts and supplies Set and manage reorder points, safety stock levels, and min/max quantities to prevent production stoppages Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory audits Implement and manage inventory control software or
ERP/CMMS
modules for parts tracking
Procurement & Vendor Relations:
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors for parts, materials, and MRO supplies Issue and track purchase orders; manage vendor lead times and delivery performance Develop relationships with preferred vendors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply Identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor consolidation, blanket orders, or alternative sourcing Resolve discrepancies in deliveries, invoices, and part quality with vendors
Cross-Functional Support:
Work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to anticipate parts needs and support planned maintenance schedules Coordinate expedited parts orders to minimize equipment downtime Communicate parts availability, lead times, and supply issues clearly to internal stakeholders Assist in new equipment commissioning by ensuring all required spare parts and consumables are on hand
Team Leadership & Administration:
Supervise parts room staff as the team grows (storeroom clerk, receiving personnel) Train staff on parts room procedures, inventory software, and safety compliance Maintain organized records of purchase orders, receipts, invoices, and inventory transactions Generate reports on inventory value, usage trends, and cost variances for management review Bilingual Role Responsibilities (English/Spanish) Due to the nature of this position and the regular interaction with English- and Spanish-speaking personnel, vendors, and suppliers, the Parts Manager must be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
The Parts Manager will frequently:
Communicate parts requests, status updates, and procedures with Spanish-speaking production and maintenance personnel Translate parts labels, work orders, and inventory documentation as needed Liaise with Spanish-speaking vendors and suppliers on orders, lead times, and quality issues Support a respectful, inclusive team environment by bridging language gaps on the shop floor
Qualifications & RequirementsRequired:
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written), with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages as required to perform the responsibilities of the position 3+ years of experience in parts management, inventory control, or materials management in a manufacturing or industrial environment Demonstrated ability to manage and organize a parts room or storeroom operation Experience with purchase order processes, vendor negotiations, and MRO procurement Proficiency with inventory management software, ERP systems, or CMMS platforms Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to read and interpret part numbers, bills of materials (BOMs), and basic engineering or maintenance documentation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Preferred:
Experience in machinery manufacturing, heavy equipment, or an industrial OEM environment Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components used in industrial machinery APICS CPIM or similar supply chain/inventory management certification Experience setting up a parts room or inventory system from scratch Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
