Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Automotive Parts Manager to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the procurement, inventory control, and distribution of automotive parts and accessories, ensuring seamless operations that support our service and repair teams. Your expertise in supply chain management, supplier relations, and automotive diagnostics will drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a vital component of our automotive business, fostering growth through strategic sourcing and exceptional team leadership. Duties Manage the end-to-end supply chain process for automotive parts, including sourcing, purchasing, and inventory control to meet operational demands. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize costs and ensure timely availability of parts. Oversee warehouse management activities such as shipping & receiving, stock organization, and equipment repair to maintain an efficient parts storage environment. Coordinate with automotive service teams to ensure the right parts are sourced quickly for repairs, utilizing automotive diagnostics knowledge for accurate part sourcing. Lead procurement management efforts by sourcing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, managing vendor performance, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Supervise warehouse staff in forklift operation, shipping & receiving processes, and equipment maintenance to uphold safety standards. Maintain excellent customer service by providing technical support on automotive parts and accessories when needed. Skills Extensive knowledge of automotive parts and accessories management combined with mechanical understanding of vehicle systems. Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement management, and logistics inventory management within an automotive or manufacturing environment. Strong supplier management experience with negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and build lasting vendor relationships. Proficiency in inventory management systems such as ERP platforms (e.g., AS400), CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and inventory control software. Familiarity with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving procedures, forklift operation certification, and equipment repair protocols. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite for data entry, reporting, demand planning, and internal communication effectively. Knowledge of automotive diagnostics tools to assist in accurate part sourcing aligned with vehicle repair needs. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in parts administration and order management processes. Strong communication skills for coordinating across departments internally while maintaining supplier relationships externally. Understanding of OEM standards, auto body repair processes, HVAC systems related to vehicle maintenance, and sourcing strategies for spare parts.
