Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as an Inventory Control Assistant and Yard Dog Operator, where your energy and attention to detail will drive the efficiency of our warehouse operations. In this vital role, you will support inventory accuracy, manage stock movements, and control trailer movement on the property. Your proactive approach will support our supply chain excellence, enabling us to meet customer demands with precision and speed. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse management, data analysis, and materials handling within a fast-paced environment committed to continuous improvement. Duties Monitor inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) and conduct regular stock audits to maintain accuracy. Support inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation and timely processing. Operate yard trucks (yard dogs) safely to move trailers within the yard, supporting efficient loading and unloading activities. Assist with materials handling tasks, including heavy lifting and organizing stock in designated warehouse areas. Collect data on inventory movements, shipping & receiving activities, and process improvements for analysis. Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and supply chain teams to optimize stocking strategies and reduce discrepancies. Support process improvement initiatives by analyzing root causes of inventory issues and recommending solutions using tools like Excel data analysis. Skills Proven experience in warehouse distribution Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements effectively. Knowledge of logistics inventory management, demand planning, procurement processes, and supply chain analytics. Capable of heavy lifting and materials handling; forklift experience. Strong cross-functional communication skills to coordinate with merchandising, production planning, and shipping teams.
