In this role, you will be part of the team that ensures AWS's supply chain delivers the datacenter infrastructure to support workloads critical to national security. This is a high-judgment role, where you will represent the AWS supply chain during engagements with public sector customers, and must be able to translate customer and regulatory requirements into actionable deliverables, determine what is a true requirement versus a nice-to-have, and understand how to find the balance between cybersecurity and business objectives. The ideal candidate is an individual leader that can think and communicate strategically while also executing tactical actions. On one hand, you will directly interact with senior leaders and must be fluent in executive communication to gain support for new initiatives and obtain consensus with AWS customers. On the other hand, you will also be responsible for delivering on your initiatives and must have both excellent interpersonal and writing skills to work across myriad teams in the supply chain, security, and legal organizations to deliver results in an ambiguous operating environment. It will be your responsibility to ensure the supply chain delivers on our security and risk management commitments to our customers, as well as make sure region build and operational teams are able to get the infrastructure hardware they need when they need it. This position requires that the selected candidate already be a U.S. citizen and, after starting, obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work. Key job responsibilities Driving consensus and standardization for acceptable levels of risk and best practices across supply chain operations Developing technical solutions that drive automation at scale to ensure datacenter infrastructure is delivered on-time, in-full to support ADC regions Proactively working with other organizations to anticipate gaps between teams, processes, and system architectures, influencing where no formal reporting structures exist Articulating in writing (actual papers, not slides) key issues and strategic initiatives for senior leadership Acting as a thought and business leader in the field of cybersecurity, supply chain risk management, and supply chain operations A day in the life You are at the intersection of the Venn diagram for security, operations, and risk management, and thus work with a variety of different stakeholders. You will primarily focus on addressing supply chain security and risk concerns for U.S.-based ADC customers to allow the supply chain to operate smoothly. Additionally, the team supports all ADCs, so you will collaborate with international peers to drive standardization and scalable practices across the global supply chain. About the team Our team has the greatest end-to-end view and understanding of AWS's supply chain and sits at the center of the Venn diagram of supply chain security, operations, and risk management. We build bridges with both internal and external customers across those different disciplines to find the right balance between them. Amazon values diverse experiences, and our team is no different. You will join a team with members in different countries, backgrounds, and perspectives. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career hasn't followed a traditional path or includes alternative experiences, don't let it stop you from applying. We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. Our employee-led affinity groups foster a culture of inclusion that empower us to be proud of our differences.
