Visit us @ ampunited.com Job Summary The Logistics/Warehouse Manager is responsible for the oversight of vendor management, procurement, warehouse operations, and equipment/mechanical asset management in support of U.S. Government and Navy programs. This role ensures full compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement , as well as applicable Naval Sea Systems Command standards. The position plays a critical role in maintaining operational readiness, audit compliance, and cost-effective support of ship repair and industrial activities.
Responsibilities:
Vendor Management Develop, evaluate, and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) Monitor vendor performance for quality, cost, and delivery timelines Resolve vendor disputes, discrepancies, and non-performance issues Maintain approved vendor lists, documentation, and compliance requirements Procurement & Purchase Order Management Generate, review, and approve purchase orders (POs) in accordance with company policies Ensure accuracy of pricing, quantities, terms, and delivery schedules on all POs Coordinate with internal departments to forecast purchasing needs Track and manage open POs to ensure timely fulfillment and closure Reconcile purchase orders with invoices and receiving documentation Ensure procurement processes comply with financial controls and audit requirements Warehouse Management Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, and distribution Implement and maintain inventory management systems and procedures Conduct cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials and equipment Optimize warehouse layout, workflow, and efficiency Enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance within warehouse operations Equipment & Mechanical Management Manage maintenance, repair, and lifecycle of company equipment, tools, and mechanical assets Develop and oversee preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime Supervise mechanics or coordinate third-party repair services Track equipment condition, usage, and availability Ensure compliance with inspection requirements, safety standards, and certifications Evaluate and recommend equipment repair, replacement, or upgrades Requirements
  • Previous experience leading a team, managing a budget, and negotiating bids and contracts.
  • 1-3 years of management experience
  • Knowledge of the consumer goods industry.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid ability to meet all deadlines in an organized and timely manner.
  • Experience with purchase order systems, vendor negotiations, and inventory control
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, or fleet management
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) is a plus Benefits and Perks Competitive pay and benefits package
