Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Yard Supervisor and Inventory Control Specialist to oversee daily yard operations within our specialty lumber distribution center. This role is integral to maintaining efficient warehouse workflows, ensuring safety compliance, and optimizing inventory control. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a solid understanding of logistics processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives while managing a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. Duties Supervise yard activities, including material handling, shipping, and receiving operations, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures. Coordinate location control within the facility Lead team management efforts by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Operate and oversee the use of material handling equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently. Manage shipping & receiving activities, including documentation accuracy Qualifications Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar warehouse management role within distribution centers or logistics environments. Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution, inventory control systems, and materials handling equipment operation. Excellent managerial communication skills Mechanical knowledge related to material handling equipment operation is highly desirable. Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing manual tasks in a warehouse setting. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and documentation accuracy.
