The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor oversees daily operations in the Shipping and Receiving department. The role combines team leadership, shipping and receiving coordination, inventory oversight, and related documentation. The supervisor helps ensure shipments, receipts, inventory transactions, and associated records are accurate, complete, and traceable. This position provides direction, training, coaching, and support to department employees and works with the team across shipping, receiving, material handling, inventory management, documentation, and other department activities. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable with ERP and shipping systems, and able to shift between coordinating work, completing documentation, resolving issues, and assisting with department tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities Provide daily leadership and support while assigning and prioritizing department workload and maintaining appropriate staffing coverage. Coordinate with Production, Quality, and other departments to support on-time delivery and resolve shipping or receiving discrepancies. Train, coach, and provide day-to-day accountability for department employees; escalate personnel or performance issues as appropriate. Prepare, review, and maintain shipping and receiving paperwork, including packing lists, bills of lading, carrier documentation, certificates of conformance, and other customer-required documentation as applicable. Verify inbound and outbound shipments for part or material identity, quantity, condition, labeling, packaging, and required documentation before receipt or release. Maintain accurate ERP and inventory transactions and organized raw-material and finished-goods inventory, including physical counts and discrepancy resolution. Maintain part and material identification and traceability throughout shipping, receiving, and inventory handling. Review and follow customer-specific shipping, packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements. Coordinate LTL, truckload, and parcel shipments and load or unload trucks using forklifts as necessary. Maintain packaging supply levels and provide packaging solutions as appropriate. Maintain accurate and detailed shipping records, work instructions, and departmental procedures. Other responsibilities as necessary. Qualifications Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or related manufacturing experience; supervisory or lead experience preferred. Good organizational and documentation skills with consistent attention to detail and accuracy. Experience coordinating LTL, truckload, and parcel shipments. Ability to navigate inventory/ERP systems, shipping software, email, and basic reporting. Experience with inventory control, physical inventory counts, and reconciliation of discrepancies. Ability to interpret and follow customer-specific shipping, packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements. Experience with manufacturing traceability or quality documentation preferred. Forklift experience required. Ability to lift 40+ lbs. Ability to prioritize changing workloads and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
