Pay:
$80,000 - $85,000 - yearly Annual Bonus Opportunity!- Not a Remote Position, This is at our Depot in Durham CA
DESCRIPTION:
The Assistant Transportation Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of all transportation operations to ensure the timely delivery of PPF products and services and to achieve all PPF company goals and objectives. Managers at ProPacific Fresh are responsible for the continuous development, coaching, training, and motivating of their direct reports to ensure they are performing to their full potential, and their respective departments are meeting or exceeding established financial objectives. Managers are responsible for being the resource for their direct reports and ensuring that they have all the available tools and support to do their jobs safely, efficiently, and effectively.DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assists in managing all transportation operations.
- Serves as a direct reports for all drivers.
- Participates in all recruiting, training, and management of driver personnel to ensure department objectives are met and maintained.
- Effectively schedules personnel based on customer demand, route criteria and maintenance needs.
- Adheres to, and enforces, all established company protocols and procedures.
- Ensure personnel compliance with state safety laws and DOT guidelines to sustain company-wide safety practices.
- Oversee and perform administrative tasks to ensure the efficient and effective operational performance of the transportation department.
- Support financial goals and budget guidelines according to company objectives.
- Manages and maintain company fleet equipment to ensure operational levels are met and maintained.
- Participates in implementing new/improved systems, policies and procedures.
- Participates in on-call and or weekend oversight rotation schedules.
- Partakes in tasks assigned that are outside the scope of this job description, but within the capabilities of the employee.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field
- Previous managerial/supervisory experience
- Successful track record in trucking and distribution
- California CDL Class A or B a plus
- Knowledge and experience in Truck Management Systems (TMS)
- Knowledge of Windows Apps; Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
